Kennedy Happy With First Away Win

The Director of Rugby of the London Irish, Nick Kennedy, is a pretty happy man, now that the team was able to register its first victory away from home this season.

He had praise for the Bedford Blues team for the performance that they showcased against his London Irish team. His team had to fight very hard to register its first win away from home and ended up with a winning score of 30-23 at Goldington Road. The London Irish team also walked away with a bonus point from this away encounter.

The Exiles are in good form this season and they have won three out of three games in the Greene King IPA Championship this season. Kennedy is happy that his team is doing well at the start of the season and hopes for even better performance in the coming games. Ben Franks, Topsy Ojo, Johnny Williams and Northcote-Green all played their part in the game against the Blues to help the Exiles win. The Blues gave a very tough fight to the London Irish team and they had a string of scalps over big teams in their recent adventure at home. This is why Kennedy gives credit to them for putting up a valiant show.

London Irish Sees Several Movements In Players

The center player from Worcester Warriors, Andrew Symons was slated to join London Irish this season.

However the news can never be true unless the move has finally materialized. It is quite common that rumors turn out to be different from reality and that happened in this case as well. Andrew Symons decided to join up Gloucester finally and not take up London Irish’s offer.

Many feel that this would be considered a disappointment for the team. The team had pitched for the move but Andy decided to go with another team. Andy is the brother of Matt Symons, captain of Exiles team. He is known to play as center. Symons has chosen to stay with the Aviva Premiership though Gloucester Rugby has not qualified for the same this year. Nevertheless, he would be moving to Kingsholm as the new season commences. London Irish Has Potential To Come Back Stronger

London Irish has several reasons to come back in the limelight.

Last week the team suffered a loss and star players of the team like Elliott Stooke felt dejected as a result. Relegation can be tough to come to terms with. As it is early days for the team, they are finding it out the hard way. When the team suffered a loss of 32 to 25 to Harlequins they were deathly quiet in the changing rooms. It definitely makes their relegation final and they might have to look forward to gearing up for the next Aviva Premiership games. However, there is a chance that they might still be in the Championship. Bedford might win which will give them a fighting chance. The Blues have been beaten by Bristol and hence, it does look difficult this season. (more…)
