The Secure Trading 24/Sevens south-east regional play-off finals are around the corner and the Tornado 7s are raring to run out.
Elliot Brown, player manager of the side is of the belief that his Tornado 7s side would be massively fired up if they run out at the home of a premiership rugby club in the upcoming finals.
Run by the RFU, the Secure Trading 24/Sevens competition is a community sevens series where the best amateur teams in the country compete across qualifying events followed by four regional competitions.
July 15 will see the Tornados head to the Hazelwood Centre, the training base of London Irish, the recently promoted Premiership side.
There, they would vie for the chance to make the national finals which would hold at Bath’s Recreation Ground two weeks later.
He believed that the event would provide the perfect backdrop for his players to rise up to the occasion.
Brown who during the regular fifteen series, plays at scrum-half said: “I think playing where a professional club play is only going to make us raise our game even higher.
“Going down to The Rec would be such a good experience for the team. A few of us have played at former Premiership academies so we’ve been down to these grounds but going down together as a team is going to be awesome.”
Brown also noted that so far, they have got a good fighting chance and their major aim would be to reach the final of the play-offs before getting to the national competition.
The Tornados was founded in 2014 by Brown and NathanBarham, fellow fifteens team mate. So far, they have gone all the way to their fourth playing season and continue growing in strength.
